Peanut Butter Cookies

This peanut butter cookie is a melt in the mouth cookie! It is a fragrant and most importantly, a simple recipe to start with!

When I was baking this, my neighbour actually smelt the peanut scent.. She told me afterwards when I treated her the cookies..

Go ahead and try it, its yummilicious!

Peanut Butter Cookies
Ingredients

225g peanut butter (Smooth or chunky)
150g plain flour
1 cup brown sugar ( I use caster sugar)
1/2 tsp vanilla essence

Methods

1. Preheat oven to 180 Celsius.
2. In a large bowl, mix sugar, peanut butter, and vanilla essence till well combined.
3. Gradually add in flour and mix till combined.
4. Use hands to roll out a tablespoon of dough into a ball, place on baking trap and flatten it slightly using the back of the fork.
5. Bake for 8minutes and cool for 5minutes before transferring to cooling rack.

Tada, easy recipe right? Easy and good, definitely gonna stay with me for life!

Hi, I tried your recipe today but the dough was very floury (exactly like the muah chee peanut powder). In order to roll them into balls, I've to hand press them very hard and they crack when pressed with a fork. I'm wondering if you missed out any butter or egg in this recipe.

Hi Mavis,

Actually, my dough is a soft dough, easy to handle type. No, in this recipe, there isn't any egg or butter, only 3 ingredients. Did you measure the amount of peanut butter or the flour correctly?

Hi Carrie, like Mavis, my dough didn't turn out well too. I think it is becos of the different type of pb.

hi cookie,

I've a suggestion, if the dough is too floury, U can cut down abit on the amt of flour use and see if its better.

I always use peter pan chunky peanut butter, its better than skippy's.. I find that skippy's has a very oil smell..

Another alternative is to use peter pan PB with honey added to it, nice too.

Thanks Carrie for the suggestion.

I used Kraft Light (I have a pic herehttp://happycup.blogspot.com/2008/09/touched-by-angel.html)pb. I have always been taking this... the texture of this pb is quite dry, hence possibly why it didn;t make it for this recipe.
